Nathan Collins began working at Riverchase Middle School (now Pelham Park) in 2004 where he taught 8th grade history and was the head middle school football coach. He transitioned to Pelham High School in 2020 where he teaches 10th grade World History and serves as the outside linebackers coach and head track coach for Pelham Park Middle School.

After serving as an assistant football coach for 10 years at Riverchase, Collins became the head football coach in 2015.  Riverchase won the Southern Conference Championship in football in 2010 and 2016.

Collins began coaching track in 2012 and has helped our track program win several championships.  The Girls track team has won the Southern Conference Championship 5 times in the last 6 years (2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017) and the Boys track team has won the Southern Conference Championship 4 times (2012, 2015, 2016, 2017).

While Collins served as the head baseball coach, Riverchase won 4 Southern Conference Championships (2006, 2008, 2010, 2011).  

Nathan Collins grew up in Thorsby, Alabama and attended Jemison High School.  Collins served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1994-1998.  After serving in the Marine Corps, Collins earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Auburn University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Montevallo.  Coach Collins began teaching in 2003 at Childersburg Middle School. He is married to Dr. Meredith Collins and has one daughter, Clea (13).
