The Panthers traveled to Northridge for their first round playoff game. Northridge was able to strike first about 15 minutes in finding the back of the net off a corner. Northridge capitalized again with 4:30 remaining in the first half to take a 2-0 lead. Freshman Morgan Snyder sent in a great cross to Junior, Michelle Hernandez who was able to put the ball in the back of the net cutting the lead to 1 with only 1:30 to go in the first half. This goal was huge for the Panthers as they cut the lead to 1 and took some momentum into half.
The Panthers came out strong in the second half and couldn’t break through to get the equalizer. With 17 minutes to go in the second half, Northridge was able to get in behind the back line and put away their third goal of the game. With 4 minutes to go, Northridge got in behind the backline and took advantage of the 1v1 with the keeper.
The Panthers season ended with a 1-4 loss on the road. This marked the second playoff appearance for the Panthers in as many years. This also marked the first playoff goal scored by the Panthers in at least 10 years. The Panthers look to take the positives from this game and build on them for next season and also take the heartbreak of this and use it to motivate them more for next season.
