Assistant Coach, Virginia McNeill, joined Pelham in 2018 after graduating from Samford University. Virginia McNeill is a 6th grade English teacher at Pelham Park Middle School who will be joining the Women’s Soccer Program at Pelham High.
Virginia grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and was recruited to play Division I college soccer at Samford University. Throughout her soccer career at Samford, Virginia started 61 out of 77 games. Coach McNeill played as a defensive midfielder, averaging 75 minutes per game. During her career, McNeill won 4 regular season Southern Conference titles, 1 Southern Conference Tournament Championship, and 1 appearance in the Division I NCAA Tournament. McNeill’s recruiting class had the highest winning percentage in Samford Soccer history. McNeill was a member of the 2014 All-SoCon Freshman Team, a 2016 General Shale SoCon Athlete of the Week, a 2016 winner of the SoCon Pinnacle Award, a member of the 2016 All-Tournament Team Additionally, and a member of the 2017 All-District Academic First Team. McNeill competed and beat quality opponents such as Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama, Wake Forest, and Memphis, while also competing in close games against the University of Georgia, Duke University, Michigan State, and Florida State.
Virginia McNeill is excited to begin her coaching career at Pelham and continue her passion for the sport as a Pelham Panther.
